The Okanui Art

In 1968, Dick Ash travelled through the islands
of the South Seas, and ended up working on a
copra trader, sailing between Fiji and Tonga.

This first experience beckoned Dick back
to the islands for many more visits.

When at home in his studio, among the hills
behind Byron Bay, the images of the islands
and their people never leave his mind.

Dick has produced some prize winning artwork
on both canvas and paper. You can drop into
the Okanui Classics shop in Noosa Heads
and view some of his ‘island style’ art….
